Our Wish List ... if you can help by providing any of the following please contact us anytime. We are happy to arrange a time to pick up any items you wish to donate. We are a registered charity in Queensland.
AN ACREAGE PREMISES OR FACILITY on the Gold Coast in one of the following areas ....
Mudgeeraba, Tallai, Worongary, Mt Nathan, Nerang, Gaven, Clagiraba, Advancetown, Ashmore, Moledinar, Carrara
If we had our own shelter facility we could rescue and rehabilitate so many more cats and kittens but we are currently restricted in the number we can rescue because we have to foster them out. We operate on a shoestring so we can't afford to buy a facility or premises but may be able to lease one. IMPORTANT: Because all donations over $2 are fully tax deductible, a sponsor who purchases a facility for us as a donation or gives us a property as a donation can obtain a whole or partial refund for it from the Tax Office. If you or anyone you know can help us in this regard, please contact us as soon as possible.
A HATCHBACK CAR, STATION WAGON OR 4WD - doesn't have to be new but has to be in good condition and running
We need a good vehicle for animal rescue and transport and collecting donated items and equipment. The car we're using now is a mid size hatch which is a bit tired. The cost of any donated vehicle can be claimed as a tax deduction from the ATO.
A LAWN MOWER OR HELP WITH OUR GARDENING
A petrol lawn mower is needed to replace our ageing electric one - or alternatively helping us with gardening.
CAT CARRIERS
We are always in need of more cat carriers for transporting our cats, especially medium sized ones which can fit 2 cats or a mother and kittens. We also use medium size plastic dog carriers to catch cats. Is anyone able to donate them to us?
FLEA AND WORM TREATMENTS
We are always in need of flea and worm treatments and our preffered products are: Advocate, Revolution, Advantage & Frontline plus any good worming paste, however, we will accept any products which you can donate to us for the treatment of our cats.
FOSTER CARERS & VOLUNTEERS
We are always in need of good foster carers to look after mother cats and kittens, orphaned kittens and adult cats. Our foster carers need to be absolute animal lovers and have long experience with cats. (We don't want any of our cats shut away in bathrooms or the garage). They need to intereact with people to live in a home enviornment. We also always need volunteer help with cleaning, feeding and preparing food, picking up donated goods, transporting animals to vets and playing with cats and kittens.
CAT SCRATCHING POSTS & TOYS
As soon as we bring new cats into care we spend time playing with them as this speeds rehabiltation and also encourages them to socialise with our other cats. We also provide scratching posts and toys to our foster carers so we are always in need of more. Small rubber balls are a favourite and also fluffy toys which we can put on a string. It only takes a few days of playing to bring a scared kitty out of its shell!
CAT BOWLS, BLANKETS & LITTER TRAYS
We go through a lot of cat bowls; blankets (polar fleece are perfect for kittens) and litter trays so are always needing more. We send these items out with our cats to foster carers. If you can donate them, please call us on 07 5594 3333 or 0414 314 443 to arrange for pickup |
